Sewing Machine Operator

Salus Marine Wear is currently hiring 10+ sewing machine operators to join their growing team.
This position runs Monday-Friday, during daytime hours. We are looking for applicants to start immediately.
Transportation service will be provided for sewers coming from the Wellesley area to Waterloo. Pick-up and drop-off locations and time to be determined based on applicants location.
Applicants should have knowledge of industrial sewing machines and basic sewing skills.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Pre-inspect each piece textile for defects prior to sewing.
• Effectively operate various sewing machines (brands and styles) and be able to conduct routine (basic) sewing machine maintenance such as
o Thread, Needle, Blade, & Bobbin changes.
o Cleaning of thread or textile remnants from casings
o Oiling of machine
Located 5 minutes from the St. Jacobs Farmers Market at 660 Superior Drive, Waterloo, ON.
*A quick sewing skills test will be required
Safety during the Covid-19 pandemic is a priority to us. Facilities have been set up to adhere with social distancing practices and additional hygiene stations have been installed. Should we feel anyone is unwell they will be sent home. We will provide each employee with a reusable mask. Meal times and breaks have been staggered to help with social distancing.
